Product Manager – Retail Sales

Are you a sales professional who is passionate about the food industry?
Does the opportunity to work with one of our largest grocery customers in Canada sound intriguing?

Shalit Foods has an exciting opportunity on our Retail Sales Team for a Business Development Manager supporting chains such as Costco, Sobey’s and Loblaws with all of our brands including JAMIE OLIVER. Join our team and be responsible for creating and implementing management strategies and tactics that drive revenue and profit for the organization.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for producing extraordinary results in developing superior business relationships, building trusted advisor status in our large retail accounts achieving volume and profit targets.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Customer Development (80% of time)

• Impact base and incremental retail sales volume
• Set up promotions at store and corporate levels while ensuring profitability
• Monitor business results and then plan and adjust accordingly
• Penetrate account to reach key decision makers; building joint customer business plans to improve utilization of Shalit Foods programs

2. Category Management/Business Planning (20% of time)

• Influence account decision makers to achieve share growth in Distribution, Shelf, Merchandising and Pricing (DSMP).
• Execute new item objectives through expedient shelf placement, timely order processes and retail placement follow through
• Initiate joint customer planning to create and develop account specific promotions
• Plan and evaluate potential cost of promotion prior to implementation

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Post secondary Degree or Diploma- with preference for Business, Commerce & Marketing
• Minimum of 5 years of customer management experience within the Food/Consumer Packaged Goods industry
• Superior analytical and customer presentation skills
• Ability to negotiate
