Since 1990, SFI has supplied the food industry with quality brands and impeccable service. Founder and President Sol Shalit offered a simple tomato basil sauce to Toronto area hotels. Impressing the Chefs with daily service, Sol grew the breadth of products. By 2000, Sol had expanded, supplying products throughout Canada and the U.S.
In 2001 and 2004, his sons, Ron and Tal Shalit joined the company, and took things in a new direction. SFI abandoned distribution to focus on the brands that make up the company today. Those brands are recognized and embraced by SFI clients in healthcare, retail, foodservice and up-stream ingredients.
Over the coming years, SFI’s clients can expect to see more innovative products and a continued focus on culinary excellence throughout all facets of the food industries and sectors.
